January 2009 - months into minutes. Home in time to panic with the preparations of Christmas and then giving up (or perhaps giving in... ) and doing what was possible- visits with friends and family, decorating the tree, hanging the cards and exchanging lovely gifts. We had done most of our shopping on our travels this year so that made life a bit easier. New Year found us looking after our guests once more with late leisurely breakfasts in keeping with the party season. Was it only last month that we had enjoyed our own breakfasts on the terrace sitting in the sunshine? Oh well, only a few months and we may be doing the same on our own deck - care to join us?

It has been a busy day already with a complete turnaround of rooms to be ready to welcome our new guests arriving tonight. This morning everyone enjoyed the breakfast chat so much, ourselves included, that it was a good job we were both around to get the jobs done together. Now Sid is off to chef at Stirling Castle and I should be outside where the sun is shining and the garden needs attending so this entry will be brief but a start....

The first day of rain for 3 weeks but at least it has saved me from watering the vegetables. Ventured into the loft to get down the sewing machine where it has been gathering dust over the past 3 years. Now clean there will be no reason not to get started on the new cushions unless of course the bell rings and a new guest arrives...right on cue. Saved by the bell!

Our New Website Print E-mail

It's been a while since we updated here but if you have been on our site perhaps you see some of the changes made. We hope you find it useful. If you want to check availability of our rooms please open the VisitScotland link from our website as we update this regularly. We recommend a contact e-mail too as the date you are looking for may just have gone.

If you are reading this then you will know that Sid and Lucy are busy building our new website. And if you have stayed with us before you may be wondering where we are finding the time between looking after you our guests, the cottage, the garden starting to grow again green at last and sailing season, now that summer is here again 2010 we are looking forwards to meeting you this season . Well it will take time that is all we can say just now but we are getting a great back up from our web designer (who regularly checks up on us to see how much we have completed - no pressure then). Now the sun is shining and there are beans and peas to be planted so more next time....

Got some more work done on the website today as rain stopped play in the garden. We had new photographs taken and when they are ready we will be making a few changes to those already on the site. It's funny how a rumour can start as our neighbour thought we were selling up when the photographer had been seen in the garden taking the photos....
